Fellow Conservative Republicans,

I've had a number of opportunities to answer questions and answer the question, "why are you running?" in the past couple months. One thing is clear to me. Voters want to know where you stand on the issues. My Campaign Literature I deliver door to door has the following issues I am running on: 1. No New Taxes, 2. Protect Private Property Rights, 3. Repeal Civil Unions, 4. Give Parents a CHOICE - $5000 voucher/credit per Student, 5. Cut 1 Billion Board-Feet of Timber per Year!, 6. No Higher Gas Taxes, and 7. No Driver's Licenses to Illegals. After I run down this list with the voter I tell them, "I'm Pro-Life and Pro-Gun!" I hand them the information and ask, "How does that sound to you??" The usual response is "Sounds like your getting MY vote!!" They generally thank me for stopping by and are very thankful that someone who shares their views is in the race.
I keep hearing from Liberal friends of mine how "complicated" the world is and that "simple solutions, like mine," cannot be implimented. To that my response is "get out of the way, Mr. Liberal, and give me (and the other Conservatives in the Legislature) the chance to show you HOW they CAN be implemented!!"
I value your input and support. If anyone out there needs a sign for their yard call me at 503-910-8345 and leave me name and address and we'll make sure we get you one.
I'm working VERY HARD to earn the right to serve the HARD WORKING people in House District 17 as their Common-sense, Conservative Representative!!

Thanks,

Bruce Cuff
Candidate for House District 17

Cliff,

The reason I posted my "Candidate's Statement" was that in my Press Realease it stated the reason I entered the race was the "difference" between my view of School Choice and my opponents. This "statement" was to clarify the "issue" at hand - School Choice. Everything in that statement is TRUE. You should know, you were one of the County Commissioners who voted for my opponent and placed her "in office."
(Didn't you state during the selection process that you would "support" the candidate that was chosen and NOT run?) Bruce

Hi Bruce,
I agree that I'm not sure about Mrs. Sprengers position on education even in the public sector. At Scio School District we offer Charter, On line, Public and provide services for home school students. Parents need a choice and we practice what we preach. Also students who have nearly met their graduation requirements are offered an opportunity to attend LBCC. This is not just for academic students but allows vocational students opportunities as well.

All the candidates for the District 17 position offer different backgrounds and experiences. I will never say anything negative about anyone, I will just try to bypass those type of comments as not worthy of a reply. We all need to focus on what we have to offer and let the voters decide on who they want to represent them. Cliff

I hope more Republican candidates for office will begin authoring blogs here. This is a great opportunity to discuss issues pertinent to each district. It certainly looks like a good primary race in District 17. I know I would vote for you if I were in the district simply based on your stand for school choice.
